About
For Wedding work see my links page for my Facebook Link or search Facebook for "Rod Lewis Photo"
I'm a Bournemouth, Dorset based photographer specialising in portraits, marine and weddings but have been nominated for various landscape photography awards such as The Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2008 and 2009 and shortlisted for the Digital Camera Photographer of the Year in 2009. I have been resident photographer for Sailing Today magazine for some years, and work in the marine industry for various other companies including the RYA. As a marine photographer I come with my own boat at a very affordable cost.
I've embraced a variety of modern editing techniques in my photography, but my (landscape) photographs are not digitally manipulated aside from some adjustments to the brightness and contrast with levels or curves - Little more than what is done in a traditional darkroom. If a picture looks good, it's because I have invested alot of time and effort in waiting for the right light for each shot. In many cases I've been at the location many times until I get the shot I'm happy with, and that is usually due to good lighting or weather conditions.
The pictures you see on this site are available in framed prints, on canvas, or other materials by request. Please use the "Contact me" section for details.
I have also recently written and directed my first short film which is called Ruby and it has been selected for several festivals as well as winning the Silver Award at The Los Angeles Film Review Awards. You can watch the film here on vimeo:
